Every time I need some inspiration, I look at this guy's cars:

And this time the article was in Greek, double bonus.

Wow, keep being a pioneer for us.

What a lovely turnout for this event!!

It was a great experience. Old friends and colleagues came out of the woodwork to show their support but also in solidarity, that every one of us has to express themselves in their own way and at their own pace, to mark their existence on this great earth.

If you missed it, I'll keep posting more photos as I gather them from friends and little morsels of moments captured...until hosting another one in 2 years;)

research and projects

Many possibilities come from just one project. I can't believe lately the on flux of new and innovative ideas. I guess when you open up your mind to them and stop being bogged down by the limitations, products happen!
Happy creating everyone.

Dancing

Well, back to work. It's been a delicate dance until I realized that I"m an artist, not a dancer, didn't I learn my lesson in junior high when you had to choose between music, dance and art? I counted 7 pieces of work worth exhibiting, yay! I just have to frame 4 and put the finishing touches on 2 last paintings, I wasn't satisfied with them.

In the meantime, here is a close up of the last cartoons I worked on. Each pencil stroke is rest, each negative space is food . The whole image is a dream.

Enjoy!

Sun and Rain

I have been working with old colleagues and I must say, it's been so great and productive! When I work, I write less though, especially on my blog. Which is a good thing creatively but not great when you're trying to keep connected to the outside world, beyond the details of your meticulous work. I've managed a couple of days a week in between blitzing to think about what I'd like to exhibit in the Autumn of 2015. This should be fun. What, out of all the creative thunderstorm will merit a little time on a white wall? Is my intention to sell a couple of original pieces while collaborating with my awesome schoolmate from back when...or do I just want to get out there and feel validated as an artist and amass more motivation for projects to come? Perhaps it's really all this and a way to have a nice evening seeing more old friends over wine a cheese!

Art Exhibition 2015

I am working on some paintings and drawing from life once a month. I will have them on exhibit soon. My friend Ray and I are actively looking for a space to show our work in the Plateau area of Montreal. It looks like it's happening in Autumn 2015! Details to follow.

Coming Up

I'm so excited to see what we'll do on the next comic strip for Lovell Litho and Publications! Never thought of myself as a cartoonist but I'll be nice to go back to the old paper and pencil again. It's important for me to ground myself with this kind of work. I'm not dropping digital, in fact, I've rekindled my love of vertices thanks to Digital Tutors and finished my storyboard for an eLearning Demo. Combining it all is truly amazing. However, these are long term projects while the cartoon is instant gratification. Will post it sooooooon.

New Projects

Hi again, taking some time to promote (and to help my niece.)

(She wanted to know how to title the images posted, there is no real easy way other than the "add caption" property. When you browse to add your picture file, highlight and copy the name after clicking it as it appears in the text field. Then once you OK that, click your image, add selected and click image again. Options appear and you select "Add caption" then you paste in what you copied before. Anyone know a faster way, do share!)

So this is a job I did recently. It was a great experience. My colleague is building up his business "dataenligne.com" and he is a such a wiz at how to create a buzz and instigate passion and curiosity for your company using social networking and more.

Here, we remind the public that this landmark of a printing company is valid and evolving from a great past to a greater future. And even though we are all on the computer and forgetting about teaching kids cursive and the craftsmanship of printing, this printer had a BIG impact on society because they published and promoted gems of literature. I am honoured to be able to bring this into the forefront and hope to have sparked up enough interest to continue the drawing and the story.

Research : Background to be...

Dear readers,

This is simply to inform you that we will be changing our blog background!  Oh Yes!  We have been telling ourselves for ages that the actual background is only temporary, that we should change it for something more...us?  We still haven't come around to do it, but it's now on my URGENT to do list!

Hopefully, we should have something done or temporary...again...in the month to come!  2013!

Anyway, enjoy the actual one while you can and if, by any chance, you have suggestions, please feel free to post your comments.

Thank you for your patience!
_______________________________________________________

Cher lecteurs,

While summer wanes, the urge to create is fired up. Time to re-focus and contribute something to art. After seeing the inspirational statues of the Parthenon and the stoic people of Greece, how can one not appreciate craftsmanship and form?

Here are some pictures from the new Acropolis Museum in Athens, the birthplace of democracy, philanthropy, philosophy, astronomy, medicine, math and yes the economy!

Creation to tilt!

A while ago, I decided to prepare my portfolio, in case an opportunity would present itself, like a job or inscription to University.  Well, I finally prepared it, sent it and...  received a negative answer.  I wanted to present more, but I had so little time.  Ever since then, I haven't been able to put anything on paper, just like I haven't had the courage to write anything on this blog.  A complete “Creation to Tilt” situation!  I thought by writing in English instead of French, it would give me this little push to accelerate the process, but still…  Maybe it’s the holidays, 2013 is very close by (very, VERY close by!) and I wish I could have done more in 2012, could have done more drawings, Photoshop, animations and 3D models and so on…  Don’t worry!  I’ll have something to hang on the Wall of Art eventually (it's better than the wall of shame, hihi!).

To all digital artists out there, I wish you happy new year 2013!

Circles

The painting finally reached it's destination! I think the paint dried on the back of the truck heading down to Florida. Good thing it had 35 hours to do so even though it's just acrylic on canvas and not oil. This one is special to me because I'm freeing myself with the new style and mentality. I had fun incorporating some graphic design elements onto the canvas, because let's face it, digital art is big part of my life now. Pixels, switches and repetition fund this art and should be immortalized along with the great feeling of being able to create again, be it buttons and dots. If you just can't wait to see it or you're afraid to commit to having it in your home, you could rent it for a while...http://thecondoexperience.weebly.com/ The drawing is the original sketch, it really came to mind with strong intrinsic lucidity and persistence.

SO...along with summer always comes plenty of sources of inspiration and along with my well deserved vacation, will come more time to reflect on emerging projects for exhibition 2014. I haven't picked the place nor theme but I am working on 3 completely different paintings sporadically but surely. This is a picture of our getaway place where some of the paintings I am working on for the exhibition will find a permanent home. The idea is to rent our place and also have some work up for sale. (That's one of the ideas, anyways.) I hope to showcase work in the idyllic place with the perfect setting. It's the best way to enjoy art while reveling in the condo experience. More information on how to rent it will follow shortly. For now, I should just continue to work hard on this because it brings me such joy and I can only hope to share it soon.

The exhibition at the Kirkland Municipal Library was a success. I actually sold some paintings and this breathed life into me. I hope to do another one in 2 years with new pieces. I'm going modern, fun and affordable. Best of all, it was done with the help of my friends and my family, two things I once thought were in conflict with my work. Somehow it all seems to be coming together. Maybe the anxst will be gone in my new series but hopefully not the delight.

new meaning of learning something new every day

So today at work I was doing a little clean-up of my internet browser history, right, and on it were the most far out things I could possibly imagine. You'd think "what a nerd" ...but no, just an artist! I just thought it would be interesting to share a day in the life of a multimedia technician / graphic designer / artist;

celtx https://www.celtx.com/about.html a software for storyboarding, scriptwriting, etc

azimuth File:Azimuth-Altitude schematic.svg

ambigrams

chiasmsus http://jonahprobell.com/wordplay.html

slew transducer...it took me a while: it's a JOYSTICK.

desiccant (means a material that keep moisture out...)

Anyways, these are real searches, I know, who cares, I'm sure you've done your share! The point is, artists think! We use so much concentration on little details that the prospect of looking up such things seems funny.

Great Greece

I'm really, really sad and hurt about Greece. They are the reason I kept drawing when I came back from there. I fought so hard to come back to Canada because their system was backwards. When studying the great ancients, the girl from Chios head put things in perceptive, Greece invented art, among other little things like democracy, the Olympics and standing up for yourself...
